Old Salt is a collective of musicians from the USA, Belgium, Sweden, and Scotland who pull their influences from down in New Orleans to the Appalachia Mountains up into the folk revival of the North Eastern States and jumping the pond to the many sounds from Old Europe. They successfully mix session with stage and street to bring a folk sound with grit, dynamic, spontaneity and improvisation. Their first album, 'Up River Overseas,' combines original songs by Dan Wall, as well as traditional tunes arranged by the band. The album was recorded in the north of Sweden in a live band room to ensure that the recordings would maintain a genuine reflection of their live performance.

In maart 2019 komt de nieuwe cd uit van Old Salt.

BARNILL BROTHERS (sing and song writer)

Ruben Hillewaere - guitar, vocals, Barnabé Deliens - guitar, vocals, Yves Peters - drums, Lara Rosseel - bass, vocals

The Barnill Brothers, the one comes from the Flemish lowlands, the other grew up in the Waloon countryside, but Ruben Hillewaere and Barnabé Deliens, alias Charlie & Ted Barnill, share the same passion for American folk music of the singer-songwriters. Their music is pure and strong by its simplicity, blending their voices and guitars to make them sound as one. In 2016, they win the contest "Ma première scène" in CC W:Halll and are selected by Ca Balance for a full accompaniment program in 2017.

Their debut EP "Parallel Lives ", containing authentic songs with meaningful lyrics, recalling their childhood dreams and resolutions not to let them rot in an ordinary life. It definitely requires a place on the upper shelve of your folk music library!

HELDER (sing and song writer)

Helder Deploige is a Belgian multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and actor, currently based in Oslo (NO) and Ghent (BE).

He's been playing and composing on acoustic and electric guitar, 5-string banjo, ukelele, mandolin, balalaika, accordion, harmonica, piano, drums, upright and electric bass and more, with some of Belgium's finest bands like Sukilove, Het Zesde Metaal, The Rhythm Junks. He's been producing and recording work for bands like Madensuyu, Kommil Foo and Berlaen, often playing, recording, arranging and mixing every single instrument himself. And he has been working internationally as a performing artist and composer in theatre, music theatre and dance theatre, with companies like Nie (GB/CZ/NO), Kopergietery (BE), Riksteatern (SE).

Currently, is experimenting as a trio featuring Lara Rosseel on double bass and vocals, Arne Leurentop on violin, piano and vocals, and Helder on vocal, guitar, banjo, ukelele and percussion.

ROOM 13 ORCHESTRA (studio orkest)

Producer, componist en pianist Yves Meersschaert besloot om tegen de huidige inkrimpende stroom in een nieuw kamerorkest op te richten waarmee hij live kan spelen en in zijn intussen befaamde opnamestudio Room 13 te Gent ook opnemende artiesten van dienst kan zijn.

LE BARON FAUTEUILLE (acoustisch trio)

Joppe bestevaar - baritonsaxofoon, Lara Rosseel - contrabas, David Broeders - percussie

Wat begon als een duo op de hoek van de straat, groeide al snel uit tot een stevig trio. Zoals eerder al op diverse podia bewezen: dit trio is prachtig schoon, integer en hélemaal. Le Baron Fauteuille spelen aangename, prachtige muziek van Art Farmer, Thad Jones, Stevie Wonder, Bert Joris, Alec Dankworth, Duke Ellington...
Het genieten staat centraal, van de "schoone muziek", als ook de energie die tijdens de improvisaties ontstaat. Ze waren finalist bij Jazz Marathon Brussel en te gast op het radioprogramma 'bij Neve' van Jef Neve op radio 1.
